Repas de fête

In France, Christmas and New Year are synonymous with one thing ... shellfish. The employees of the local fishmongers were out in force, six of them behind the counter, and the shop was piled with crates of oysters and seafood platters. We modestly and lazily bought cooked spiny lobsters for tomorrow evening. And a kilo of rope-grown mussels for this evening. Then we went to stock up on wine and buy a new corkscrew to replace the broken one due to over-use.
It was much milder today, 18C instead of 8! And even (briefly) some blue sky.
