no regrets
A rather gloomy day so I waited until the afternoon for my walk. Left Jess at home and took the binoculars instead to see if there were any interesting birds around. Nearly every other bird was a robin, but I did see a red kite and a treecreeper :-)
As Harling Darling said the other day, this time of year is a kind of liminal space. It's a good opportunity to look back and forwards, to think about the past year and make plans for the new one. A long walk is a good opportunity to do that.
The photo shows one of the ubiquitous buckets which litter our fields - they usually contain mineral or protein lick for the sheep. When empty they are very useful for all kinds of things. There are some nice red rectangular ones with lids which we wash out and store food in to keep away the mice. The farmers won't mind, I'm sure. since they have to pay to have them recycled.
I like the motto on the McMinn buckets - "No one ever regretted buying quality".
