Theatrical
I met up with my friend Katie today for one of our cultural days in London as she’s in the UK for the festive season. We started in the Museum of London where we browsed the archaeology and I photographed a skeleton from my research that’s on display. Then we had lunch and headed to the Old Operating Theatre Museum in Southwark which we’d never been to before and was fantastic. We got in on the weekly talk about Victorian surgery which made everyone present thank goodness for modern surgical techniques - and anaesthetic! Next we went to Southwark cathedral, had tea and cake in the refectory there, and finally walked back to Waterloo along the South Bank, taking in the Golden Hind and Tate Modern en route.
12.4 km, 15,624 steps and 29 flights of stairs later (according to the health app on my phone), I’m completely knackered and off for a soak in the bath, having had a great day.
