The turkey

The time has come for it to go
It's been here for too long
To keep it for another day
Really would be wrong.

We roasted it and made some soup
Filled rolls and ate it cold
Tonight we're going to curry it
Before it gets too old.

There's chutney and peshwari naan
Accompanied by some rice
To aid its disappearance
And counteract the spice !

We bid farewell, oh festive bird
And always will remember
The many meals we conjured up
They lasted through December !!
