Battlefields & Ramparts

Our weekend at the Youth Hostel was at an end this morning.

Rather than drive straight home though, we stopped off at Flodden Battlefield which isn’t too far away from Wooler. It was very cold and windy and Ethan was initially in a right grumpy cos he didn’t want to go. However there are lots of information boards to read around the site and he eventually decided it was actually quite interesting reading them and imagining where on the field the Scots army would have been compared to the English army.

After that we had a stop at Berwick where we walked round the town ramparts. Again VERY cold and VERY windy! Certainly woke us up!
