St Clement
This is in Old Romney on Romney Marsh. This church is from the 12th C but the site has been used since the 8th C. The church is on a man-made mound to keep it safe from flooding. It is one of the oldest churches in Kent and Derek Jarman is buried in the graveyard.
I'd love to say that I went down to the Marsh for a walk but the wind was blowing Frenchmen across the Channel and blowing their poodles' inside out. It was also raining and you might see the evidence of rain on the lens in this shot.
Although folk using artificial time, in places in Abroad, are already celebrating the start of 2018 the proper New Year - as approved by Her Majesty - is still a few hours away. I hope you have a chance to see out 2017 in an appropriate way. See you on the other side!
