Out with the old

A family trip to church this morning resulted in a chance meeting with our God-daughter and her young son.  Very sadly, we've hardly seen her since our own children came along but have re-connected this year.  They came back with us and we enjoyed a leisurely lunch together.  Jamie kept the youngster amused while we caught up a bit :-)

A quiet night in to follow.  The final blip of 2017 is a perfect flower from a seedling Iris unguicularis in the garden.  Perfect flowers, undamaged by bugs or the weather are few at present so, in a journal with so many entries being just things I grow in the garden, it seemed fitting to end with this.
