River of Flowers

Sunday: Hidden Treasure

After a very windy night, we have a lovely mild morning. MrD went for a ride on his motorbike and I did some gardening.
I cut back old leaves from the Hellebores and was rewarded by hellebore flower buds and little clumps of snowdrops, almost in flower. I don't do too much clearing during the winter, all the dead stems and leaves provide winter shelter for so many friendly bugs!
Babington leek was planted early October and is doing very well, also some kale seedlings in the greenhouse which the slugs haven't found yet!
Rain started soon after lunch and was heavy and wintry, washing is still on the line and will have to stay there until tomorrow.
Happy New Year everyone, may 2018 be all you hope it will be xx
