The Beach
The Chinese love their fireworks and the display last night must have been marvellous by the sound of it. Trouble is we couldn't see it because it was behind the hotel and we couldn't get to see in that direction. Never mind, there were some smaller displays the way we were looking.
Today we moved from Georgetown to Batu Ferringhi and the beach. It's a lovely place with extensive and beautifully kept grounds with lots of birds flitting around. As a northern hemisphere guy, I have to say I do find it strange to be sitting in a beach bar with 'God Rest You Merry Gentlemen' playing over the speakers.
This evening we went down to the beach for my blip before going to the lounge for cocktails. As we went through the garden Marian spotted a monkey in the treee ahead. I've put him in as an extra, I believe it's a Spectacled Langur or Dusky Leaf Monkey. I'm a pretty poor wildlife photographer so I was very pleased that he stayed put quite happily while I took photographs.
