John Masefield Day

I have sea fever occasionally. It’s been too long since I saw it and felt it.
Today seemed a perfect day to head to the coast; not easy in rural Essex, but we went to Aldeburgh and had a wonderful, windy walk.
This is Maggi Hambling’s sculpture tribute to Benjamin Britten..“ Scallop”... with words from ‘Peter Grimes’ etched on the shell.
On New Year’s Day I am so thankful for everything I have.
