Deeside railway line at Torphins

Our first walk of the year was with my sister, family and dog along a stretch of the old Deeside line at Torphins. The line ran from Aberdeen to Ballater and was fully opened in 1867. At its most popular there were five services a year and I have a vague memory of my Granny taking us out to Banchory on the train. The line fully closed in 1967 and is now used for recreational purposes.
