THE ROSE PARADE

Since 1890 the city of Pasadena has the famous Rose Parade. All floats are decorated with pedals and flowers, nothing artificial. There are marching bands from all over, big and small floats - just old-fashioned fun. Some people camp out for hours before the parade to get a good spot on the Boulevard. The night before people walk around and cheer each other, a carnival atmosphere. And then after the parade, the floats will all line up and people can see them up close, the viewing ends tomorrow. Too bad, nobody here in my family wants to go. But... we did it once many years ago, so: been there, done that.
