Life in Sunny Dubai

By GadgetKid

Hello 2018

It was nice to have a relaxed start to the day. New Year's Day is always so quiet! I caught up with my last blip for 2017 and used up all my Extras for the year as well.

Despite the drizzle and intermittent showers, we set out to collect Margaret to drive to Worthing to eat fish and chips by the sea. Good thing we looked past the weather, as the sun came out as soon as we started heading South, giving us spectacular lighting, so my main image is mainly to capture the light.

Our award-winning chip shop was closed and rightly so I guess. So we drove around and found another place, which turned out to be better and cheaper! Food secured, G drove to a different part of the seafront to eat.

Margaret had been reading some Rudyard Kipling, and as we had been taken to Kipling Gardens by KarenC in the summer, we decided to show them to her. It was really interesting driving down the coastal road to Brighton. We were surprised at how industrial parts of it is.

We found the gardens easily. I love Rottingdean's War Memorial and can't get over the pristine condition of the poppy wreaths. We had a look in St. Margaret's Church which was not just open to visitors, but it also had the heating on!

Margaret mentioned a church in Brighton that is built to the dimensions of Noah's Ark, so we want to check that out in the summer. We didn't get Margaret home before it got dark, but it was fantastic to watch the super moon as we drove home. We had a cup of tea before saying our goodbyes till we meet up again in the summer. ;(
