Pigeon Bay Walkway

We hadn't done this walk for several years.  Last time, the rough farm track from the Pigeon Bay Domain to the headland was being reconstructed into a proper road, we presumed for a new house being built in one of the bays.  Today walking along the gravel road was more pleasant, although the ends of the walk that are not on the road are in dire need of maintenance.  Getting to the headland involves walking through long grass with no obvious track, and once there, most of the fence along the cliff has fallen down, and the signs are very old and worn.  However, the views are really spectacular, so it is well worth it.  One thing that puzzled us was that according to DOC's website, the track is closed from mid July until the end of November for lambing.  This is odd, as there are a lot of cattle on the property, but not that many sheep.
