I missed Friday again!!
Technology let me down for the usual friday blip! This is the Quincy Street Quintet brought together by Pete Major on keyboard far left.
The most glamourous member is Fran on vocals with a new image this time - even more glamourous. Her right shoulder is not so - its the guitar of Lawerence Canty sitting quietly at the back giving out great bass guitar sounds.
Fran's father, Dave Lee, who usually plays sax and clarinet was recovering from his back operation in Liverpool hospital - he's doing really well with the nurses looking after his reeds!
Instead of Dave we had Harold and even though he wanted me to make him look younger he really should be proud of his 83! Far right is Peter Boocock on drums who was rather concerned that they should go home before they were the last at Burgundy's Wine Bar.
And as always, Ted kept us amused during the interval with risque stories that I could not possibly repeat here. And he led me astray last night to Carnforth station, the venue for "Brief Encounter" which last night was the arrival of hundred's of people off a pullman train in their dinner suits and colourful dresses to dance on the platform to the jazz sound of Ted and a few others. And then they disappeared into the night. Ot was it a dream!! Surreal whatever!
