Frozen to Death

Late in the fall there were a few large spiders making homes and laying traps in the trim around front porch nooks and crannies.

For some inexplicable reason, this one decided to emerge in subfreezing temperatures. It looks like it cracked open and screamed its way into death. I felt sad for it when I took a close-up shot. Check it out large.

Perhaps the arachnid experts can opine.
