Wallace

Our first Ramblers' walk of the New Year was a short one - through the grounds of Stirling University, up Abbey Craig to the National Wallace Monument and then back the way we came.

This was mainly due to the fact that we had booked our Festive Season lunch in a nearby hotel for the early afternoon and didn't want to turn up late or too dishevelled for the occasion. In the event we had a heavy rain-shower during our walk, so that turned out to be a good plan.

Back at the hotel, we changed into our party frocks and enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon - and the food was good too. My kind of rambling!
