Damascus wood...

I've been watching this blacksmith on YouTube who makes swords and knives out of Damascus steel. This is steel made from alternating dark and light steel stacked, forged, cut restacked, cut, forged twisted and on and on. Gives it a marvelling type of pattern through the steel.

I thought I'd try a similar but less intensive method with wood. This is the stage just before whittling.
