Day two

If you've spent more than 5 minutes in youth ministry in the past 5 years then you will have heard of Miriam Swaffield. I've heard lots about her so was excited to hear her during a seminar and at the evening meeting today. This woman has a reputation for a reason: I guess the youth would call her fierce. Brilliant, challenging, inspiring, encouraging and prophetic.

There's been something about this conference. I can't quite put my finger on it but it's a very good thing.

Ellie took me for a session at the gym between meetings and once I'd spent 20 minutes on the weights with her, I was longing for the treadmill. Guess I'm just a cardio kinda girl.

Even though I have not stepped outdoors today, I have been kept very much on top of the weather in our new 'Cartwright Close Girls' thread. It seems that Storm Eleanor plus recycling day equals carnage. I'm glad that, aside from weather reports, the group is mostly being used for setting up soirées. I love where I live.
