Mirror calm
This morning we headed out across the mid-Hauraki Gulf, taking advantage of the early morning calm. Beautiful smooth water for the crossing to Kawau. Lots of storm petrels dancing across the surface of the ocean, but none came close enough for a decent shot (like a pod of dolphins too). Pleased to get this shearwater gliding effortlessly along so close to the water.
Bad weather coming, so a change of plan....we have rented a berth at Gulf Harbour for a few nights.
