A bird!!
Back blip
Looks like a thrush, but has a reddish chest, not sure!!
The morning at McKinley Lodge was interesting. Firstly, a walk and talk by a park ranger. Last night the forest walk was closed for safety as a Moose and her youngster were around, but no sight of them this morning.
We then saw a film show about the Northern Lights, superb photography.
After lunch we were taken by coach to Anchorage.
Dinner was in a steak house that we visited last time we were here. They have an interesting system of allocating tables. Half of the seating area has standard tables that you book and can sit there as long as you want. The other half has mixed sized tables including one long raised table with bar type stools. You don’t reserve a table but stand in line until a suitable table is free. People take a table, eat and move on when ready, so the turnover is good. You appear to be served quicker in this area and the bill is promptly presented when you decline another course. Perfect for us. There were about a dozen people in the queue when we arrived and in less than 5 minutes we had seats and had ordered!!! Whilst waiting you can see the food being cooked.
We then had a wander round the city centre and found the patchwork shop that I visited last time and bought the wall hanging pack that I’m working on at home at present. It was closed obviously as it was late evening, but I could see a quilt inside the door that has given me ideas for the material that I bought in Denali.
