A path into the castle

We were in Inveraray for lunch with Ishbel and Sue, whom we tend to see every year at this time as they make they way back to London from New Year at Kilmelford.

Usually we meet at the Loch Fyfe Oyster Bar but today we chose the George Hotel and it did not disappoint. It is consistently of a high standard and the ambiance - flagstone floors, wooden seats, log fires - is excellent particularly on such a damp and chilly day.

We took Rula for a walk in the Castle grounds beforehand and I was drawn to this image of one of the ways into the castle.
