Nasty Plasty

I went shopping today and was overwhelmed by the amount of plastic.Surely we don't need to put all our vegetables in plastic? I decided to buy the veg loose, but guess what.... the bags to put loose veg in are plastic too.

I found a solution. I weighed each item separately and barcoded it all without bags. Every potato and even each tomato. 

The girl on the till looked at me as if I were crazy.

But guess what - no plastic bags and no best before dates!
