Happy (pre) Solstice

It's a day early due to diary clashes, but tonight we hosted almost 70 people by accident, for our annual Solstice Party. A work colleague, my boss's PA, heard me talking about the party and I ended up sending her an invitation. What I didn't realise was that she passed it on to the whole management team so my boss and lots of others turned up believing I had invited them!

Anyway, we didn't run out of booze which is the main thing - and it was such a warm night that the youngsters were able to sit out around the fire. It was absolutely lovely, but exhausting and with so many guests I hardly got to talk to anyone. Note to self - 2018's party will be smaller!

I made mum's old 'praline' recipe which went down a treat. The boys were hoping left overs would keep us going for a couple of days afterwards, but there were only crumbs.....
