Winter Blues

The late-afternoon sun was getting ready to set as I ran into the backyard with my camera to get this shot. The light was fading and the temperature was plummeting. As if we thought it couldn't get any colder . . . but then IT DID! The sky was blue, and the snow even looked blue as the late-day shadows claimed it.
