Hungry sheep

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes. The meal lived up to expectations and was very varied - Vietnamese slow-cooked lamb and sweet potatoes;  tofu, greens and cashew stir-fry; sea bass with sizzled ginger, chilli and spring onions; Vietnamese chicken salad; barbecued pork fillet with Vietnamese caramel sauce and Vietnamese steak with watercress all followed by a tropical fruit salad with lemon-grass and lime syrup. 

This morning a short bout of post-Christmas and birthday blues was dispelled by a brisk walk round Bedford Purlieus where we met this flock of Herdwick ewes, with a definitely non-Herdwick ram. Initially the sheep were quite shy, but the ram was bold, and came over to investigate us, and was soon followed by his flock. I think they were hoping that we had food and they followed us for some distance before realising we were empty handed. Certainly their woodland glade looked short of nutritious vegetation.

The afternoon was spent ploughing through the accounts - a hated task always left until the last minute - this year is no exception!
