Floors are looking good!

Floors in the house are looking pretty good! They've dried and are showing their true colours now. These are this house's original oak floors, with all the dreadful stain/lacquer removed, and then given a clear varnishing coat.

These floors always require a second coat which we've planned for, but we're thinking it might need a third coat, which frankly - when the floors look this good - I don't mind doing at all. Varnishing these floors is a total pleasure.

We did them in a high gloss in the end, wanted to show off the floors a little bit, and when they are original oak hard wood floors, what's not to show off?

Why people insist on putting heavy stains on floors like these I'll never know, and why people insist on covering up these floors with fitted carpets, again, I'll never know.
