On the hop

Once Christmas is dismantled -
gone the glitter and  bright lights,
why can't January be cancelled,
with its days as dark as nights?

There is one valid reason
we should not keep months at bay,
for by sticking with the season
we won't wish our lives away.

Actually, although today has been quite cold, it's been lovely and bright. Still sad to pack away the Christmas tree and decorations, but it'll be spring before we know it! The blue tit here has two legs but he was hopping around on the branch and I seem to have caught him mid-hop.
