Breach!

Cullen Harbour, this afternoon.

Apparently, damage to this part of the breakwater was reported to the Council back in April. A week ago, a substantial hole appeared below the paved level and was again reported. Yesterday, a substantial section of the breakwater collapsed. The Council now say they'll come on Monday to inspect it and consider repairs.

The pier was built by Thomas Telford 200 years ago. It's so sad to see it in this state. Amazingly, the capstones have stayed in place so far despite the battering they've taken today.
