My Dæmon

If there is any advantage to a lingering lurgy it’s the chance to read more. Today I started - and finished - Book One of the Book of Dust: La Belle Sauvage from Philip Pullman in one sitting.

Just wonderful - such captivating, powerful storytelling. As with His Dark Materials, his descriptions of characters being separated from their dæmons just brings me to my knees emotionally - no gentle weeping, but huge, gasping sobs. Every time. Incredibly visceral.
