Epiphany
Got up today at about the same time we went to bed yesterday, just before 7 a.m. - yesterday was when the men got back from taking Mafeli to Lisbon; then today, we had to leave early for an all day meeting in Lisbon. Crazy.
Got back just in time for the special Eucharist for Epiphany, which is when Jesus was revealed as a light to the nations, represented by the Magi. Here are two of them from the Nativity scene in the church. I was asked to read the passage from Isaiah 60, so beautiful (in Portuguese, of course):
Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
For darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the LORD will arise upon you,
and his glory will appear over you.
Nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn....
And then our usual meal with the Padre at Sr Zé's, who has just opened again after the death of his brother-in-law. Such a good time, and special to share it with our son.
