Northern Irish Wedding
Was at a wedding today in Gaglorm Resort & Spa. A stunning resort in the Northern Irish country. Probably better a bit large.
It was Mrs B's cousin getting married today. It was a lovely day and ceremony. While we waited for our dinner a young Sinatra/Buble style singer crooned away in the corner.
I've come to learn from going to to a few Northern Irish weddings that you will be in for a good feed. And this was no exception. Once we were eventually seated down for food, it was a tour de force of eating. A whole duck leg and noodles for first course. Then a vegetable broth. Then a chicken breast so large I'm pretty sure it must have come from a lab, breaded, stuffed and served with mounds of potatoes. And I mean mounds. Then Cheesecake. Some Coffee. Then of course Wedding cake that came in four varieties. It was a good thing my kilt had an extra few notches.
After a couple of hours of dancing, they had supper. Rather than some coffee and shortbread, as you might expect, there was proper full-on fish and chips. It came served in a bucket. It was a food epic.
We are of course going to go out for an Ulster fry in the morning.
