Grandpa's Birthday

It's my Grandpa's birthday today. Mum, Dad and Grandpa went to a aeroplane show today so Chez and I decided to theme the cake we were making him around planes.

I made a Victoria sponge cake, filled with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam, then covered in regal icing. Chez spent ages looking up pictures of spitfire planes on the internet, then created one out of moulding icing. I think she did a really great job, planes are hard to make!

I finished it off by icing happy birthday and adding a ribbon. We went over to Mum and Dads to present Grandpa with his cake and to have a cup of tea whilst Grandpa opened his presents.

He has had a great day, and so have we. :)
