Goodbye Blue Tiles!

Today is day 0 for these tiles. Well...the blue colour at least.

Tim the bathtub renovation guys starts on this bathroom and refinishes the tile floor, bathtub and tile surround. We are totally mad to have kept these tiles, but they are probably original to the house, and they are in fantastic shape - seems a shame to pull them down. Which....we could do but replacement cost would be similar to having them refinished.

However, what we didn't figure was probably 8-9 days of razor blade stripping on those tiles. They had been painted (several times) and needed all the paint pulled off with a razor blade, then the old grout that was losing it's grip needed pulling out, and then it needed re-grouting again. All in all, a lot more work than expected.

The renovation guy was amazed that we had stripped the bathroom to this point. And so he should. A future Blip will show the results.
