Making the most of the snow
Well, there's no denying that we have tons of snow and it's just the beginning of a long stretch of it. So, I decided that I may as well make the best of it and use the snow as a blip subject.
I was originally after a single snowflake on a black background. However, I choose the wrong background. A black polartec hat made for a dark background, but once it was magnified in a macro image, it had too much texture and fuzz. The snowflake got lost in all the distractions. I'll have to try a new dark surface another day.
Fortunately, I had snapped a few snow crystals on some the downed pine branches as well. In the end I found those more appealing than the original idea.
