Lady in pink

Our new publicity guy has been doing a splendid job advertising orienteering events round the local running clubs. This lady in pink is running the Blue course which will mean nothing to my non orienteering readers; it means she is out on one of the longest most technically difficult courses on offer today. Here she is, high up on the hill, away from the paths heading for a tricky to find ditch where I was waiting in the sun with my camera.  She assured me she was having a great time despite having been out for about 2 hours. She was just one checkpoint away from the finish so success was in sight. The extra is a similar shot of a more typically attired orienteer who managed to finish in 80 mins  although the fastest lady on the course managed 50 mins and rushed past my camera in a blur.  But well done the lady in pink; 6 people on the course retired or missed points out. Hope she comes back for more - she is certainly brightening up the woods.
