Nature Takes Control
On my way from the Southern to Northern Lakes I de-toured to Lowther Castle near Penrith. Lowther is a huge castle and grounds being saved from demolition by a massive ongoing restoration project.
Much work is being carried out to rescue the fabric of the castle and acres of gardens are being restored. Thankfully not in a 'Heritage' way but letting nature hide little corners such as these steps and secret summerhouses, stone seats and hidden ponds.
Lowther has been described as like a hidden place waking from hibernation.
I thought this area was like something out of of an old horror movie.
