Telling Time

"Telling time" is an odd way to put it -- I think time tells me. And there's a big difference between what a digital clock and an analog clock tells me.

--A digital clock tells me just one thing: the time it is when I look at the display. That's all.

-- An analog clock tells me the current time, but also places it in context. I can easily see how the current time relates to earlier or later in the day (or night). That makes me think of what I did or where I was earlier, and what I hope to do later -- which might include doing what I should have done earlier!

(Thanks for all your good wishes yesterday for a rapid return to a cold-free life -- as evident from this rambling entry, I'm not quite there yet, but I'm on the mend.)
