Team (Don't) Knowhow
I spent a sunny, gorgeous Sunday waiting in for a washing machine delivery after it packed in on New Year's Day..
I could've been a bit more productive (and it did start as an attempted repair...), but ended up dismantling an original Russian Lomo LC-A. A classic commie camera from the 1980s. I'd expected it to be a bit more basic than it was. As it turned out it was a little mechanical marvel with even a few circuit boards included. I couldn't help imagining the production line in Gorbachev's ailing socialist republic.
You can pick up a working version of this for about £40-£60. This broken one cost £5 on fleabay with the promise of an easy shutter fix. Not to be, but I did enjoy taking it apart. Better value than a fairground ride at the same price...
Team (Don't) Knowhow eventually turned up at nearly 4pm and earnt their £20 installation fee by incorrectly and loosely fitting the outlet pipe and not even sliding it into the space. I'd even disconnected and pulled the old one out for them. Anyway. I ended up fitting it myself. That's the last time I pay delivery drivers charading as installers for the service .. Gggrrrrhh!
