Energy Retrofits

Out with my research team, preparing an older woman's home for the winter, through the National Energy Leadership Corp and Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh. We insulated her hot water pipes, replaced her thermostat (with our awesome electrical skillz!), changed her incandescents to CFL bulbs, and applied (new) weatherstripping to her doors and windows. We also did a little cleaning of some of the light fixtures. Hopefully her energy bills will drop a bit just as the prices are going up!
