The Flumlet came to us for the morning and, besides investigating my collection of elephants, was entertained by some new books that had been sent by our friends in the USA. A little advanced for him when they arrived, he is at just the right stage now and I forsee these and the other two books becoming firm favourites. And they make a change from dinosaurs...

I have discovered more details about yesterday's ice sculpture phenomenon on Wikipedia - it's fascinating. The larger (triangular) piece has now almost closed at the top but I fear milder weather will curtail further development. There is also a large bump in the middle of the birdbath, which we have never seen before.
