Early morning visit to Flotta, followed by a hearty vegetarian breakfast in Stromness. Delicious but too big? Why is it always 'eyes bigger than stomach' when it comes to cooked breakfasts... or maybe that's just me?

A day of meter reading. Beautiful day to be driving round the countryside. Short(ish) spells outside, until the fingers almost numb and then back into the car with heater on full blast to thaw out before the next stop. 

I had a short wander round at the site of the wartime airfield near Birsay. HMS Tern. Took the photo of this group of treasures. Don't know what they are, but I liked them. The extra photo is the view end on. 
There are guided tours. It would be interesting to know more - on a warmer day.
