Bright sun up in Birsay today but with a very cold wind from the south- all the way from the south pole by the feel of it. I had to keep moving or find shelter from the wind when I stopped to birdwatch, photograph or have coffee. Nothing too unusual birdwise- 300 plus curlews, a few guilemot on the cliffs, a glaucous gull at Bay of Birsay.
