Monday: Seattle Architecture
I've spent the day in a workshop with colleagues from the UK, Alaska, BC, Washington State, Oregon and California on the exciting subject of decarbonisation and low carbon economies........I was, however, disproportionately excited to meet people from Alaska. I think that was a first for me.
Actually, the dryness of the subject notwithstanding, it was really interesting to hear about the massive disconnect between these western states who believe in climate change and want to do something about it, and the federal administration who are, of course, deniers.
K. had a pleasant day exploring the city. We reconnected in the evening and went to the Elysian Brewery on Second for dinner. We're both still massively full of cold but struggled through.
I love this rather random building - not sure when it was built but it has a pretty 60s look about it. There's a lot of construction going on so you probably won't see this base for much longer.
