Epiphany

Well it was the feast of Epiphany yesterday but most of the shops in the village were open - they can't afford to close. The butcher is the cousin of the filling station guy and his wife the cousin of our neighbour. It is tight knit and open too.

We went back out to the house after a lie in. So that we could finish off what we left undone in the dark yesterday - cutting back a huge unruly box hedge, cutting out a fathom of ivy, and burning and burning.

Back home through Fiesole with the lights of Christmas still burning for one night, and a market.

Builders arrive tomorrow.
