Got married - 29 April 1939

My husband's father's farm diaries. They were mainly about ploughing and fencing or buying sheep but on Friday 27 April the entry said "Getting ready for the wedding".  I wonder if that meant going to town for a haircut!
The 1940 diary has an entry in July that says "I took Kath to the nursing home". (Kath is my husband's mother) and 18 days later "Brought Kath and baby home". He was a man of few words, not that I knew him.  He died before he was 50 leaving Kath with 7 children.
