Smiling

Everyone was smiling down in the village this morning -the sun was shining after days of gloom. They were also smiling at the sight of two big lorries facing each other down the narrow High Street. Neither was prepared to give way and the traffic backed up behind them. The drivers were gesticulating out of their cabs until the one that had less of a distance backed out into the middle of the crossroads. Crisis over! It has been suggested that the High Street be made one way but leaving it two way ensures that traffic moves slowly - or not at all in some cases!
Back home the winter jasmine is flowering well, despite regular severe pruning by the man with the hedge trimmer.
