Bon voyage gateau

Forgot to take a photo yet again, oops, so here is a pre-departure cake made by Natasha, Nicky and Connie for me, Rosie and Elisabeth.

Horrifically early start, as my first lesson at Les Vallées started at 8am, and I have to leave at least 1 hour 40 for travel, so setting my alarm for 5:45am was painful. I took 4 groups of pupils off to a classroom for 30 minutes each for them to read their autobiographical poems to me which was, er, interesting. They've obviously been taught a load of 'authentic' set phrases in English which, in reality, no English person has ever said ever. Highlights included a low-voiced teenager informing the group that his favourite animals were 'kitty-cats' and that he cannot live without 'delicious crumbly cookies'. 'Kay.
Also the nice Indian girl from last week, Kavya, hung around after class to ask me for my email address, so now I have a penpal...
