First Flowering

I have had this day lily for years, but this is the first time it has flowered for me. It had been in a big pot and last autumn I planted it in the garden. Obviously that was what it was waiting for. I couldn’t get a good sharp image because the light was very poor and this camera does not cope well with an ISO above 200.

After my dismal birthday yesterday I was hoping to make up for it today, but it turned out even wetter and darker. This two day non-stop rain event has delivered 68mm up to now. So far this year we have had 101mm of rain, an amount this low rainfall area could expect in 3 or 4 months.
