Open?

You do not "open" a tap. Even one of this kind. You open a door, or a present, or (frequently in my life) a can of worms, but not a tap? You turn on a tap. And I feel like splash back is an obvious hazard when water and sinks are involved. But people like signs. Maybe someone got soaked one day and complained. After not knowing how to use a lifty up (technical name) tap. Not that this sign would help since there is nothing to open. This probably bothered me more than it should have.
